A tote can look tidy when it is empty and still have wear in the places that take the weight. When considering a preloved Neverfull, spend as much time on the handles and inside as on the Monogram.

Check the load-bearing areas

Ask for close-ups where the handles meet the body, including both the outside and inside. Look for visible splitting, loose stitching and stretched attachment points. Ask whether handles or trim have been replaced, and who carried out the work.

Look beyond the main lining

Request pictures inside each pocket and along the bottom seams. Ask directly about odour, sticky surfaces and stains. A photograph cannot show smell, so a written answer matters. Check any side ties and the top closure shown on the actual bag.

Check the accessories separately

If a removable pouch is advertised, ask to see its corners, lining and fastening as well. Confirm it is included in the price. Do not assume every preloved example has the same accessories as a current retail version.

Measure for the real routine

Ask for the actual width, height, depth and handle drop. Compare them with a bag already owned. If the plan is to carry a laptop, compare the laptop’s measurements too. Capacity and comfort are different questions: a tote may hold a lot while still feeling awkward when loaded.
