1. GROW YOUR EMAIL LIST : An important lesson I have learned and greatly failed at in the past years as a reseller is the importance of growing an email list and creating a lasting relationship with my clients. Little things like sending out Christmas cards to clients goes a long way. I have seen how Japanese resellers for Louis Vuitton handbags and other authentic designer handbags send extra gifts to their customer base and a personally hand written letter to seal a bond and secure a possible return customer experience.

2. YOU NEED TO INVEST YOUR TIME AND GROWTH ON DIFFERENT ONLINE PLATFORMS +USE OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS TO BRING LEADS TO YOUR WEBSITE. Within the period of 2018-2019 I mostly focused on growing my business on Ebay and as a supplier to larger luxury resellers. I did not focus on growing my own brand and reputation online. This was because it was easier to sell directly to larger businesses in the resale market than to deal with customers directly. This was a huge mistake.  The request for extra pictures and being treated with suspicion was a bit too much for me especially from new customers and those who do not know how to authenticate handbags. I guess I just found it easier to deal directly with bigger businesses. I created about two groups for my business on Facebook and did not do a very good job at managing it and keeping focused. The recent pandemic have shown me the need to spread my wings into other platforms and not be confined to only two platforms . 3. ALWAYS IMPROVE YOUR BUSINESS SYSTEM + Be willing to always change your plans: When you are starting off, you are informally learning as you go. Your system needs to be continuously improving as you learn. This will help you to adapt in times of troubles. Remember that it is a learning process and you will make mistakes on the way. Be willing to close down the process in your Luxury handbag resale business that is failing and refocus on another aspect of your business that you can grow and build from.

FOCUS ON BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS BRAND AS AN AUTHENTIC LUXURY HANDBAG RESELLER + PERSONAL WEBSITE GROWTH : Supplying to larger resellers like Rebag and Fashionphile gives you quick money but does not build your brand. You can build your brand on Ebay through sales on your Ebay shop where you can be found after that through other social media links. Use various social media platforms to help build your brand such and Poshmark, ( You can actually link your website on Poshmark). Tradesy doesn’t allow you to link your personal website but if you are using your logo on your Tradesy account and the person buying really wants t find your social media account all the have to do is do a search on google and will find you . You can also link Pinterest to your Poshmark and personal website for leads. Something that I have not really focused on and need to improve with.

5. YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE : Some customers do not really read the listing details and will only go crazy over your offer price or low price you are selling at without properly reviewing the details such of the defects on the used product you are selling.

6. BE PREPARED FOR SITUATIONS THAT ARE OUT OF YOUR CONTROL: The recent COVID Pandemic has created a lot of problems especially if you are procuring your products internationally. The lag in shipping time and USPS losing parcels have resulted with so much frustrations over the Christmas period. This calls for an alternative action or strategy to cope with managing your procurement and product delivery strategy. You may have to restart from scratch. I had to change my strategy and move onto YouTube to focus on blogging because of these issues.

7. YOU NEED TO HAVE A PLAN RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING: If you do not have a plan right from the beginning because you are just starting out then your plans will work out for you slower. Take the time to meditate, do yoga and have a balanced lifestyle. We need both our mind and body to be healthy and balanced in order to stay focused and motivated daily. It is important to exercise and take the time to declutter your mind from the daily noise that accumulates through media and our social network.

9. CUT OUT THE NOISE: FOCUS ON TUNNEL VISION: Cut out the noise and focus on your tunnel vision. Remove all distractions even friends if you have to and especially negative people from your life. You also do not need to be active on social media as it is a bit distracting if you are not using it simply for business. Stay focus on the positive and say your positive affirmations to reinforce mentally that you are growing.

10. YOUR WORDS MATTER: LESS CRITICISM OF OTHERS AND FOCUS ON YOUR OWN GROWTH: I have seen the important need to recognize self negative talk. The biggest critic is yourself especially when your not having a great day or making a sale Miss Negativity likes to come out and play! Catch that thought as it’s hitting you and combat it with your truth that you are in a process of growing and that true growth comes with time and effort. I have learned the importance of saying my truth out loud to combat Miss Negativity when she likes to come around. I usually tell her ” No! I am a success and I am healthy and making progress everyday” .
